Mistfall Hunter Classes Explained (All Classes)
Overview of Mistfall Hunter classes — Mercenary, Sorcerer, Blackarrow, Shadowstrix, Seer, and more — roles, weapons, and who each class is for.
On this page
Mistfall Hunter is built around class fantasy + weapon stance + talents/gems. This page is a roles overview so you can pick a main without watching a 40-minute video.
Exact skill names and counts change between betas and live patches — treat signatures as design intent.
Class roster (launch framing)
| Class | Fantasy | Primary tools | Ideal job |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mercenary | Armored vanguard | Sword & shield, war hammer | Frontline, peel, hold space |

| Seer | Light-weaver support | Lantern / catalyst foci | Heals, shields, team utility |
Some builds mention a sixth identity or sub-path depending on patch — check the character select screen if a new class icon appears after an update.
Mercenary
Who it’s for: players who want durable melee and clear defensive reads.
Core idea: stack pressure, use perfect block windows, convert into crowd control or heavy finishers (blade-edge style resources appeared in beta notes).
Strengths
- Forgiving in PvE
- Strong in trio as the “body” that peels casters
- Teaches enemy timing
Weaknesses
- Slower gap close than assassins
- Punished if you hold block forever and never reposition
Extract tip: you can afford slightly greedier routes — still don’t face-tank third parties for a white item.
Sorcerer
Who it’s for: players who like range, AoE clear, and burst windows.
Core idea: elemental DoTs and burst schools; stay mid-range, never corner yourself.
Strengths
- Fast camp clear
- Strong multi-target
- Good with a frontliner
Weaknesses
- Melts if Shadowstrix or animals reach you
- Long cast commitments invite interrupts / dives
Extract tip: cast from extract-side of the POI so your retreat path is already lit.
Blackarrow
Who it’s for: kiting FPS/ARPG hybrid players.
Core idea: dodge-cancel style shooting, utility arrows, traps for zone denial.
Strengths
- Excellent at spacing
- Trap tools punish chase
- Strong vision of lanes if you play high ground
Weaknesses
- Feels weak if you stand still and trade
- Trap setup time loses to pure rush comps
Extract tip: pre-place denial on the path behind you, not only on the loot pile.
Shadowstrix
Who it’s for: high-skill players who already understand extract timing.
Core idea: dash/follow-ups, wound-style burst, smoke or stealth utility depending on kit version.
Strengths
- Deletes isolated targets
- Best “third party finisher” fantasy
- High PvP ceiling
Weaknesses
- Lowest forgiveness
- Bad into coordinated peels if you whiff openers
Extract tip: your bag is a liability — win fights or leave; never “half fight” with full loot.
Seer
Who it’s for: trio players and support mains.
Core idea: convert catalyst/resources into heals, shields, and team buffs (beacon-style auras in beta framing).
Strengths
- Massive trio win-rate impact
- Lower mechanical floor
- Forces enemies to hard-focus you (which is information)
Weaknesses
- Solo power varies by patch
- Tunnel vision on healing → no extract awareness
Extract tip: call extract early; supports who wait for “one more chest” strand the whole squad.
Suggested team comps (starter)
| Comp | Roles | Playstyle |
|---|---|---|
| Balanced | Merc + Sorc + Seer | Clear → control → extract |
| Dive | Merc + Shadow + Blackarrow | Aggressive deletes, louder map |
| Kite | Sorc + Blackarrow + Seer | Chip and deny; weak if hard-dived |
How to choose in 60 seconds
- Playing mostly solo? → Mercenary.
- Playing always trio and like support? → Seer.
- Love range? → Sorcerer, then Blackarrow.
- Love assassins and accept deaths? → Shadowstrix.
